PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $200,000 - $260,000 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

As the VP of Retail Districts, you’ll lead and inspire our branch network, directly managing District Directors and ensuring your teams create exceptional experiences for both our members and Retail Delivery employees. Your leadership will facilitate the coaching of our sales and service models, enhancing team performance and achieving Retail Delivery goals. You'll lead strategic initiatives, manage budgets effectively, and ensure compliance with state and federal standards, all while shaping meaningful cross-functional partnerships. Your role will be crucial in representing the voice of Retail Delivery employees and delivering BECU’s brand through our physical channel, all in alignment with our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy, to ensure the Retail Delivery technology, processes, and teams offer equitable access for all members of the communities we serve.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Deliver Purpose and Vision: You'll convey BECU’s mission and vision to Neighborhood Financial Centers (NFCs) and Districts, ensuring everyone is aligned with our core values.

  • Enhance Team Engagement: You'll oversee District Directors and collaborate with peers to foster a consistently positive Retail culture, as evidenced by eNPS and Employee Engagement scores.

  • Ensure Sales and Service Excellence: You'll maintain our high standard of sales and service by promoting a culture of coaching and advice-led conversations.

  • Develop Strategies: You'll craft and implement strategies to meet loan and deposit targets while ensuring quality service objectives.

  • People Partnership: You will partner closely with HR to maintain a consistent performance management approach across the organization.

  • Budget Oversight: You'll handle the operating plan and budget, including compensation projections, for all areas of responsibility (including NFCs and Districts), always looking for efficiency gains and addressing needs dynamically.

  • Manage Workforce: You will adjust Full-Time Equivalents (FTE) as necessary to meet service levels, working closely with HR and Workforce leaders to set an aligned workforce strategy of 600+ FTE.

  • Ensure Operational Soundness: You will oversee the branch network's operational integrity, including managing audits and any remediation efforts.

  • Delegate on Committees: You will act as a Retail Delivery delegate on various steering committees and councils.

  • Coach and Mentor: You'll provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to staff, conducting evaluations and giving feedback to encourage development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of ten years of experience as a people leader.

  • Minimum of seven years in a financial institution leadership position.

  • Minimum of five years of multi-site leadership experience.

  • Moderate travel to out-of-area locations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for handling personnel and member-related issues fairly and consistently.

  • Effective leadership and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Ability to present information effectively to executives, management, staff and outside contacts.

  • Experience in change management, project management, and strategic planning.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead teams through transformational change.

  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
