The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Senior Lead Systems Engineer located in Tukwila, WA.

Objectives of the USAF E-7 program are to build and deliver two rapid prototype E-7 aircraft and associated Airborne Mission Segment and Mission Support Segment lab infrastructure include upgrade of major airborne and ground-based systems. The US-based team is managed by Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C), a unit of Boeing Mobility and Surveillance (M&S), the E-7 is the world’s most advanced, capable and reliable command-and-control system. A unit of The Boeing Company, BDS is one of the world's largest defense, space and security businesses specializing in innovative and capabilities-driven customer solutions, and the world's largest and most versatile producer of military aircraft and commercial/civil/government space systems.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Systems or Specialty Engineering Technical Leadership Experience

  • Technical Performance Analysis and Measurement

  • Interface Definition

  • Requirements Analysis and Specification Documentation

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering

  • 3+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer Lead, leading systems engineering, integration and test activities

  • 5+ years of experience in design, requirements derivation and/or system architecture development and processes

  • Experience in all stages of development including generating technical documentation, system design and development, integration of systems development, structured analysis and design methodologies, integration and test/verification

  • Experience performing trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnect and system performance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience on Military programs

  • Leadership experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree typically 14 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $157,250 – $212,650
