King County Housing Authority Resident Services Coordinator - YAPP in Tukwila, Washington

Job Summary

*Please note this position is open until filled; however, to ensure consideration applications should be received by August 30, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. *  We are currently recruiting for a talented and passionate Resident Services Coordinator - YAPP (Young Adult Prosperity Program) who will have the exciting opportunity to provide direct services to serve youth and young adults who are aging out of foster care.   Under the general supervision of the Senior Resident Services Manager, the Resident Services Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for the YAPP program and will aid program participants in creating a pathway towards economic mobility and self-sufficiency. The successful candidate will provide skilled human support work developing, organizing, implementing, and monitoring services and programs, developing goals and plans of action for program delivery, negotiating and monitoring social service contracts with providers, assisting in the preparation of program proposals, budgets, and applications for federal and local funding, maintaining records and files. Essential Functions

 

The Resident Services Coordinator: 

Establishes rapport in order to help program participants reach their self-identified goals by using coaching, mentoring, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, etc.; ensures program participants understand program expectations; consistently engages and communicates with participants.

Organizes and maintains accurate program documents and participant files; ensures and verifies program completion requirements; processes program exits as needed; transfers files to other housing authorities as needed.

Creates and analyzes program reports and other materials for a variety of purposes.

Refers participants to other programs and services such as employment/training/education programs, counseling, benefits programs, etc. based on individual needs and goals; assists participants to navigate through various systems/resources.

Designs, coordinates, and offers workshops/trainings and other engagement opportunities for program participants on topics such as systems navigation, financial capabilities, life skills, employment readiness. Find and secure partners as necessary. 

Advocates on participants' behalf on a variety of issues including housing issues, benefits, etc.; be available for participants, including outside of normal hours, for check-ins and potential crisis mitigation.

Manages and maintains program's incentive plan(s); works with finance team to create balance reports and ensures accuracy of incentive(s); conducts annual audit of participants' incentives for accuracy and reporting.

Assists in the evaluation process of the program and provides recommendations on program changes to ensure program efficacy and proper service delivery.

Collaborates with the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program to conduct outreach and market the program to eligible youth voucher participants

Seeks, builds, maintains, and participates in networks/collaboratives to establish community and resource support for program participants; represent the program in the community; hosts and organizes meetings of stakeholders as needed.
