We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Resident Services Coordinator - Subsidy Retention Program. King County Housing Authority's (KCHA) Subsidy Retention Program assists Housing Choice Voucher (HCV/Section 8) tenants in resolving short-term barriers like inspection failures, the inability to pay the tenant portion of rent, or any number of other circumstances that could result in loss of subsidy. HCV caseworkers refer HCV tenants to receive these program services when necessary. The Resident Services Coordinator will work with program participants in South King County to maintain housing stability by providing services to support compliance with lease and program requirements and act as a liaison between program participant, private landlord/property management and HCV department staff. Additionally, they will provide resource and referral services to program participants and will support community events and activities to promote stability and engagement.  Reporting to the Resident Services Manager, this position is based at our central office in Tukwila, WA.   The ideal candidate will excel as a communicator, demonstrating compassion and active listening skills to identify root causes and find solutions. They should be agile, capable of managing multiple viewpoints and seeing situations from different perspectives, while also being highly responsive.

Essential Functions

The Resident Services Coordinator will:

Work with Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) staff, landlords/property management, and HCV voucher holders (participants) to support housing stability and address housing issues.

Meet with participants to discuss their specific housing situation and barriers and help problem solve; assist participants in identifying and resolving challenges and issues.

Identify participant service needs and provide information and referrals to social services; connect participants to programs and services that will help them achieve their goals; help participants apply for and maintain social services and entitlements.

Establish and maintain positive working relationships with community partners to ensure participants have access to information, services, and assistance for which they qualify; act as a liaison between local community governmental agencies, community councils, individuals, and tenants.

Support community activities to include HCV participants.

Create and sustain partnerships and service resources to assist and support tenants in their efforts to become self-sufficient.

May coordinate some self-sufficiency activities, in partnership with local agencies and other Resident Services Coordinators.

Participate in the development and implementation of goals, work plans, performance measures, and continuous improvement of service delivery to assist in attaining program initiatives and goals, agency core strategies, and mission.

Use data tracking software/systems to input participant data regularly; verify accuracy of data regularly in compliance with Residen
