JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

DEPARTMENT: PRODUCTION

STATUS: PART-TIME

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: PRODUCTION MANAGER

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Production Manager will assume responsibility of all things pertaining to the backroom processing at all stores. This will include donation site attendants and car sales. Recycle and regular scheduling of loads for sale. The Production Manager will give

direct support to the Director of Operations and need act as back up whenever necessary. This includes running and analyzing reports and managing dispatch when needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High School graduate or equivalent.

• Experience in providing customer service to prospective vehicle buyers.

• The ability to maintain records.

• Understand and follow instructions, both written and verbal.

• Ability to spell correctly and edit correspondence for correct grammar and usage of the English language.

• Ability to track on multiple tasks efficiently, completing each in a professional and timely fashion.

• Professional judgment and integrity in holding in confidence all information pertaining to beneficiaries, families and co-workers.

• Commitment to support and apply the philosophy and goals of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Program and the ARP Mission Statement.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Work with the Department Supervisors to ensure that quality control is maintained for all goods sorted and the maximum amount of quality goods is available.

  2. Ensure the merchandise pricing conforms to established pricing policies.

  3. Use in the most efficient manner all personnel under your supervision, both employees and beneficiaries.

  4. Conduct regular inspections of the Departments to insure the constant processing of materials and as a deterrent to pilfering.

  5. Train personnel so that all employees will be able to do any job as necessary by personnel requirements. This includes truck drivers and donation attendants.

  6. Supervise and organize the flow of materials into and out of the Departments.

  7. Provide security for the Departments and the materials stored in them.

  8. Eliminate stashes of merchandise located in the all Departments, break areas or elsewhere and take necessary disciplinary action for individuals involved.

  9. Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and reporting all safety violations to the Director of Operations or Production Manager and the Safety designate. Ensure that all necessary corrective measures and repairs are completed in a timely manner.

  10. Adhere to the policy that no items may be taken, given, lent or purchased except by the explicit approval of the Administrator.

  11. Secure the all Department at the end of the day by ensuring that everyone has left the areas that all points of access to the Departments are closed and secured.

  12. Assure that established personnel policies and directives (smoking regulation, lunch / break times, Etc.) are followed by all assigned personnel (beneficiaries and employees) and the disciplinary measures are taken when necessary.

  13. Overtime: Any and all overtime must have the written approval of Director of Operations or Administrator.

  14. Other written or verbal duties as may be assigned, from time to time by the Production Manager, Administrator, Director of Operations, or their designated representative.

  15. Follow safety measures established and maintained by ARP policy and government regulations.

  16. Sale of rags and other recyclables as well of movement of trash must be monitored and managed as needed.

  17. Support all aspects of the ARP residence program when needed. i.e. class monitoring, scheduling urine analyses (when appropriate), monitor mealtimes for beneficiaries.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.

• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and other office equipment

• Ability to communicate clearly on the telephone.

• Ability to operate a wireless phone or radio.

• Able to operate a motor vehicle.

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
