Acadia Healthcare Intake Coordinator - Night Shift in Tukwila, Washington

Cascade Behavioral Hospital has an immediate opening for a Part Time Intake Coordinator for night shift. This position will work every Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11pm-7am. The Intake Coordinator provides the initial contact a client has with our organization. They conduct brief telephone screenings to determine the nature and extent of the client's problem and whether Cascade can provide the services the client is requesting. They are responsible for answering intake inquiry calls, data entry and reviewing admission paperwork with admitted clients. They help manage paperwork in the office and help the Intake Specialist admit patients to hospital programs.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly form working alliance with patients of diverse ethnicity, culture, and belief systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with team members with diverse social service and healthcare training backgrounds to meet the needs of patients.

  • Working knowledge of state and federal laws related to care of psychiatric and/or chemically dependent patients.

Experience/Skills:

  • Basic computer skills to manage email and word processing

  • Knowledge and experience in therapeutic crisis intervention to adults, geriatrics, and families

  • Exceptional customer service skills both on the phone and in-person

  • Effective communication skills – oral and written

  • Knowledgeable regarding health insurance, DSHS and mental health resources

  • Exhibits problem-solving and critical thinking

  • Ability to work with a team

  • Ability to document information efficiently

  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with external agencies and persons including referral channels and patient families

  • Demonstrates strong boundaries

  • Patient focused

  • Enthusiastic with a positive attitude

Education:

  • GED required

  • BA in behavioral health field preferred as defined by the Washington State Department of Health (health education, behavioral science, sociology, psychology, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, social work, psychiatry, nursing, divinity, criminal justice, and counseling education)

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current Washington licensure through DOH (Agency Affiliated Counselor)

  • Current BLS CPR certification

  • Current Handle With Care Certification (can be provided by Cascade)
