Boeing Defense, Space and Security is seeking an Electrical Systems Design Engineer in the Puget Sound area in support of Phantom Works programs. The position will be to support design, development, integration, and test of electrical systems for a space application. The position provides an opportunity to work with an experienced, interdisciplinary team to develop unique systems to meet challenging requirements on a dynamic development program.

Boeing Phantom Works creates the next generation products and services for the Boeing Defense, Space & Security business. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Phantom Works focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Works under supervision to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements/architectures

  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications

  • Delivers electrical sub-system components and supports integration

  • Conducts tests and validates electrical system to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

  • Assists with the development and documentation of electronic and electrical system requirements

  • Develops or modifies basic hardware and software designs based on defined requirements

  • Performs system tests to verify operational and functional requirements

  • Assists in monitoring suppliers' performance to ensure compliance with requirements

  • Supports resolution of product integration issues and production anomalies

  • Researches basic technologies for potential application to company business needs

  • Must possess good organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills

  • Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.​

This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Have or have held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months

  • Highest level U.S. security clearance you currently hold or have held in the past 24 months

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry by December, 2021

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically less than 1 year related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.
