Boeing Enterprise Quality has an exciting opportunity for an APQP Quality Engineer (Level 4) to join our Quality Team based in Tukwila, WA.

Position Responsibilities

  • The candidate will lead development & application of AS9145 / Advanced Product Quality Planning tools, training & processes in collaboration with business unit teams.

  • Partners with subject matter experts to conduct Quality reviews focused on APQP application to new programs, changes, work movements & new technologies and ensure early quality involvement / APQP execution.

  • Leads / assists teams to use APQP methods & tools on projects.

  • Instructs APQP training, leading multi-function, multi-site groups in the use of APQP tools.

  • Assists in developing company directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure APQP application success.

  • Leads stakeholders in analysis of product & process data, metrics, models and flows to proactively prevent problems and support APQP & RCCA projects.

  • Additional roles may include conducting research, leading teams in the implementation of statistical process control to continuously improve process capability using APQP tools, support quality source selection and process capability assessments of suppliers' ability to meet program quality requirements and support business decisions, develop quality criteria, coordinate responses to senior management requests, ensure compliance with quality management system standards and APQP application, train senior leaders on preparation for APQP application.

  • Candidates must reliably work under minimal direction and be agile to support evolving priorities.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3+ years of experience with the application of AS9145 / Advanced Product Quality Planning

  • 5+ years or experience with Quality Systems in the Aviation industry

  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment

  • 5+ years of experience using strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong communication & presentation skills

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Experience working with internal and external customers and suppliers

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • BS Engineering

  • Experience in Statistical Process Control & its application

  • Project Management

  • Production Engineering

  • Design Engineering

  • Root Cause Corrective Action Experience

  • Six Sigma (DMAIC) certification

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, teach and collaborate broadly across organizations

Typical Education & Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
