The Boeing Company Applied Mathematician Mid Level in Tukwila, Washington
The Applied Math group at the Boeing Company is task with developing math algorithms and tools that is used throughout the enterprise related to the design, manufacturing and support of various products that the company produces. We are looking for a candidate with an advanced degree in mathematics or in a related computationally intensive scientific field to develop and implement math solutions using the latest techniques and software development methods.
A successful candidate for this position will possess the ability to develop production ready software application using various higher level and scripting programming languages. The ability to write software and interface across multiple programming languages using mixed language programming methods would be an asset.
This position will be located in either Tukwila, WA, Huntsville AL or Charleston, SC and does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must reside in area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
1 year with modern software development methodologies
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience)
Master’s degree in math, applied math and computational science
AGILE and Test Driven Development experience
Background and work experience in design optimization or solid geometry modeling
Multi-language software development and the ability to architect a software application.
Extensive experience with higher level programming or scripting languages such as: C/C , Python or Java or other languages used in scientific programming.
GPU programming for graphics and computation.
Continuous or mixed nonlinear programming, including multidisciplinary design optimization and multiobjective optimization.
Emphasis on gradient-based techniques.
Design of experiments, for stochastic and deterministic systems.
Response surface modeling such as Kriging, Radial Basis Functions, Projection Pursuit Regression, Polynomial Chaos, or other.
Typical Education/Experience Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
