Assist with surgical procedures as scrub staff providing instruments to the surgeons and assists in the planning, preparation, and turnover of case load.

  • Continuously assists with surgical procedures as scrub tech

  • Continuously maintains and monitors sterile technique and supplies.

  • Frequently cleans, assembles, and safely operates highly technical equipment.

  • Continuously participates in quality improvement/cost efficiency efforts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of principles of aseptic techniques and universal precautions.

  • Ability to function as a member of a team, highly flexible in wide range of surgical specialty services.

  • Ability and motivation to demonstrate positive customer service orientation toward patients, physicians, and co-workers.

  • Ability to function under stress and maintain emotional stability and an even temperament; displays team efforts consistently.

  • Possesses mechanical ability and aptitude.

Education:

  • Requires graduation from accredited Operating Room Technologist course or experience equivalent

  • Certification desired

  • Current BCLS certification required

  • Washington State Surgical Technologist registration required

Experience:

  • Preference will be given to applicants with at least one-year acute hospital experience as a scrub person
