As a Network Administrator, your tasks will include:

  • Manages and maintains network equipment and systems.
  • Monitors and troubleshoots network hardware equipment and wide-area-network.
  • Responsible for supporting minor systems and providing higher-level desktop support to other groups.
  • Performs software and hardware patches as needed.
  • Maintains and updates the documentation library.
  • Evaluates system performance and recommends equipment upgrades to maximize performance.
  • Configures and conducts system audits, monitoring server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs, and internet and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity as appropriate.
  • Maintains documentation of network hardware, processes, system configurations, data flow diagrams, and systems management.
  • Creates user accounts on network systems. Applies standard security practices for network systems, computer users, profiles, directory structures, and software applications.
  • Jointly coordinates all system upgrades, modifications, or changes to the network.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). Associate's Degree or two year Technical College certificate preferred.

Experience: One year's experience in a corporate network environment.

Professional Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar industry certification preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required or Preferred: Knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting techniques. Knowledge of performance monitoring for network infrastructure. Knowledge of basic networking technology, both wired and wireless. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
