Pay and Schedule:

  • Competitive Wages: Starting at $28.89/hr., increasing to $31.75/hr. after 692 compensated hours.

  • Typical Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays as needed, totaling a 45-hour workweek.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a rear-load garbage truck along designated routes.

  • Efficiently service customers by collecting recyclables as per route sheets.

  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance.

  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading refuse.

  • Operate hydraulic controls to lift and dispose of trash at designated facilities.

  • Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Involves frequent heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 100 pounds.

  • Adherence to safety protocols due to exposure to mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.

  • Moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to fumes.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement required (Class A CDL not required).

  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, communicating); high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum one year of directly related experience.

  • Basic knowledge of truck components for pre-and post-trip inspections.
