POSITION SUMMARY: The Superintendent's role is responsible for coordinating all activities related to a construction project on jobsite, completing work ahead of schedule, within budget and within specifications and the duties will vary by client and project size with varying degrees of responsibility and authority. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures Manage a combination of two or more Leadmen, Foremen and Superintendents, and up to 60 or more employees Supervise overall direction, coordination, performance and evaluation of sub-contractors Must be able to perform all the duties of lower level Superintendent and/or Foreman Directly supervise, coordinate and delegate activities of Superintendent(s), Foreman(men) and/or construction trade workers in one or more occupations Coordinate activities of multiple subcontractors Interact with client in order to keep the project on schedule and under budget Maintain a well-organized receiving system Prepare accurate two week look-ahead Perform all types of job layouts with the latest technology Communicate effectively to employees in oral and written form Perform minor estimating Understand and use schedules Complete all required project reports and maintain appropriate documentation on all facets of the project Ensure that all operators are certified and maintain all equipment on the project Assist Human Resources and Superintendent by interviewing, hiring, and training, appraising work performance and addressing complaints of employees in the field Manage, lead direct reports, and mentor. Supervise up to five foremen and lead other superintendents and crews consisting of up to 100 or more employees Qualifications EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Superintendent I Requirements: Three years' (3) experience/knowledge in a supervisory role in construction. Superintendent II Requirements: Five (5) years' experience/knowledge or combination of experience and education in a supervisory role Superintendent III Requiremnts: Five (5) years' or more experience/knowledge or combination of experience and education in a supervisory role KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
