PeopleReady Sr. Payroll Systems Analyst in Tacoma, Washington
Overview:
TrueBlue is looking for a Senior Payroll Systems Analyst to perform as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Oracle Cloud Payroll Product.
Location : Remote
Responsibilities:
System Knowledge :
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Oracle system functionality and system setup of our Oracle Payroll Cloud product – Absence/Accounting/Payroll/HR
Understanding Oracle roadmap of various functionality and features
Participating in Oracle Customer Advisory Boards or other meetings, as required
Defect Management :
Working with leadership to prioritize all support requests
Working with various business teams and the Technical Product Owner (TPO) to investigate and identify root causes for process or system issues (Payroll and Payroll Tax)
Working with the TPO team to define requirements and identify solutions for system issues (Payroll and Payroll Tax)
Creating and executing test plans including documenting results to test system changes
Communicating and training department managers on new solutions
Quarterly Patching :
Working with our IT team to develop requirements to implement changes in all payroll and tax modules
Process Efficiency :
Working with various business teams to ensure they are using the Oracle product in the most efficient way, fully utilizing the system features and functionality
Working closely with end users to analyze, define, model, and document business requirements for the TPO to develop the system requirements
Maintaining up-to-date listing of manual processes or inefficient processes within the Oracle Payroll product
Working with various functional departments to determine their business needs to transform them into information technology system requirements
Creating ad hoc reporting and analysis to understand payroll processing issues
Creating business requirements for new feature requests and working with the TPO to test and implement these features
Developing a close working partnership with the IT, Finance, HR, Operations, Payroll Tax, and other Payroll Services departments and help refine practices to obtain synergies and efficiencies
Change Management :
Managing change management for all new features in the Oracle Payroll product, including communications to employees, updating to various SOP or training materials, and training the department managers on the new features
Compliance and Controls :
Monitoring the effectiveness of internal controls over our payroll systems and recommending changes
Working with the legal and compliance team to monitor and understand regulatory and compliance changes as they are introduced and passed by various agencies
Working with department leaders to document business requirements for compliance changes
Working with TPO to implement compliance requirements
Process Assistance:
Assisting the Payroll team during payroll processing with errors, process improvements, report writing, and other various gaps
Assisting the Payroll Tax department with Quarter-End/Year-End processing of tax returns
Supporting the Payroll Tax department with updating and maintaining accurate SOPs and training materials
Qualifications:
Three or more years of experience working with multiple payroll systems
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field preferred
CPA or CPP preferred
Experience working in a multi-state, global payroll team
Experience testing systems, writing test scripts, and documenting defects for IT
Experience with Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management preferred
Working knowledge of US and Canadian payroll and tax regulations
Strong interpersonal skills, including persuasive written and oral communication skills
Solid organizational and project management skills
Passion for providing excellent customer service
Demonstrated ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously and ability to adapt in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
Strongly developed problem-solving skills to identify challenges and implement procedures and processes to overcome them
Upgrading, troubleshooting and implementing new functionality
Demonstrated ability in systems implementations and involvement in projects across multi-functional teams
Proven analytical, problem solving and influencing skills in high-volume, and fast-paced environments
Salary Range:
The salary for this position is anticipated to range between $85,000 and $110,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus, subject to plan terms.
Pay is based on qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training and other considerations permitted by law. We consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with applicable law.
