Description DEPARTMENT: JMFL - Social Services UNIT: Tacoma Citadel Corps POSITION TITLE: Shelter Manager/Singles Case Manager - Full-Time (35 hours) REPORTS TO: Director of Social Services COMPENSATION: $20.00 per hour GENERAL STATEMENT: The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church and the ultimate goal of all programs is spiritual regeneration of all people. SCOPE OF POSITION: The Jarvie Memorial Family Lodge Shelter Manager/Singles Case Manager is an essential team leader for the shelter program, providing upkeep to the property as well as interacting with clients. Primarily, the role includes making decisions about cases, such as intakes and exits, keeping track of data entry into Wellsky and HMIS (HMIS Administrator, JMFL) including but not limited to gathering information, ensure quality of data entry into HMIS and input of data into HMIS, organizing resident chores and schedules, and scheduling and accompanying contractors and service providers,. The role of SM/SCM provides case management to the single participants. Staff will be provided training opportunities and will be expected to operate as relief for the Program Aides during vacations, sick times, weekends, and holidays. ESSENTIAL SHELTER MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES Employee scheduling: Making sure that the JMFL is covered by program staff at all times. Make decisions about entries and exits, background checks, and consulting with the Pathway of Hope Case Manager on status. HMIS and Wellsky Data quality control, gathering of data and data input. Communicate effectively with other employees, visitors, and volunteers. Keep track of resident rule violations and recording information on incidents. Respond to emergency situations in a calm and reserved manner, and using de-escalation methods when necessary. Along with Program staff, performing regular room checks to make sure residents maintain clean and tidy client rooms. Managing changeover cleaning tasks, and making sure rooms are ready for new clients within 24 hours of previous client exit. Night staff time management responsibility): Keeping track of VALEO night crew's timesheets, communication sheets, and responsibility checklists. Food Management responsibility (In cooperation with LPA or Food Manager): Supervising the food services for the JMFL, including menus, food ordering/stocking with Warehouse Operations Manager and Food Pantry Manager, keeping the kitchen and dining room clean and tidy, and keeping track of equipment maintenance and repair. Maintenance responsibility: Reporting and keeping track of maintenance and upkeep issues in collaboration with the Administration department. JMFL Site Safety Coordinator: maintaining safety in cooperation with other Site Safety Coordinators and NW Divisional Headquarters Property Department. ESSENTIAL SINGLE PARTICIPIPANTS CASE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Meet weekly with all single participants, individually or in a group setting, providing updates to the Director of Social Services Moderate weekly group meetings of single participants Provide resources to find assistance, such as housing, benefits, counseling, addiction services, and other needed services Maintaining participant files, both paper versions and Wellsky/HMIS (HMIS Administrator) ensuring a safe communal living environment, to include the encouragement of voluntary compliance with house rules and policies. Client Rights & Responsibilities can be referred to for further detail. Properly document incidents of non-compliance with house rules and policies, as well as any safety concerns. Use the required procedures for reporting process. Respond to emergency situations that may arise, making independent decisions within policy guidelines, as necessary.
