As the Senior System Engineer/Site Lead, you will oversee a team of software engineers and be responsible for providing client software-agnostic field support for users of operational, intelligence, and tactical systems within an assigned geographical region. This position will be responsible for providing multi-layered strategic planning, insight, analysis, training, and support to our clients. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to help design, implement, manage and maintain data driven systems and networks along with help clients identify and evaluate suitable technology solutions and generate field test criterion to test and recommend courses of actions.

To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated DoD operations experience in technical and analytical planning, execution, and systems support that will include operational software, mapping, imagery, and geospatial information, network administration, training, and enhancement and upgrade support.

Clearance Requirements

Applicants must have an active TS w/ SCI eligibility security clearance due to the nature of the role.

Responsibilities

This position requires the candidate to:

  • Lead, train, mentor, and supervise a group of Mid-Level Systems Engineers.

  • Provide support and coordinate specific requirements with Government POC, Authority to Operate (ATO), STIGs and ATCs.

  • Support meetings with government agencies to expand capabilities and coordinate/update deployment techniques and ensure interoperability with other partners.

  • Provide support on tactical software, mapping, Imagery and other information systems, including tactical network administration, training, enhancement and upgrades.

  • Provide recommendations, information and/or analysis by providing systems designs and functional integration recommendations, subject matter expertise, guidance, and support to users.

  • Monitor and evaluate Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) field testing to ensure test parameters are met for certification requirements prior to a release.

  • Integrate new and upcoming technologies/systems by working with partners to identify the latest technology and generating field test criteria as applicable.

  • Lead strategic planning, integration, and coordinate daily activities for an assigned group and region.

  • Maintain hosted servers to ensure all data is accurate and ensure assigned System Engineers (SE) assess viability of equipment issued recommends courses of actions.

  • Collect, process, and analyze data from diverse sources and reproject and/or process datasets for multiple mapping and visualization programs.

  • Maintain servers with the most current data and other digital map data, ensuring the information and material received is current and validates the integrity of data.

  • Provide guidance on data selection, load techniques, and maintain master data devices used for testing and cloning as required.

  • Download and process data to stay compliant with requirements and standards, and process, compile, create and validate map data as applicable.

  • Develop and generate training syllabus as well as assist with training of all fielded software/hardware and other deployed components.

  • Provide full range of on-site network administration for various networks including troubleshooting hardware/software problems and supporting local area networks (LAN) systems.

  • Provide support and be available 24/7 as needed for any on-call support requests.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Must have an active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent), or Computer Science with 7+ years of related experience supporting DoD networks.

  • A deep understanding of systems engineering, systems analysis and decomposition and how it applies to a specific architecture or mission set. Requires the highest level of understanding with the ability to apply systems and cyber security related principles, theories, and concepts.

  • Experience supporting command and control (C2) software.

  • In-depth knowledge of intelligence analysis principles and intelligence cycles.

  • Experience in Human Intelligence (HUMINT), Signals Intelligence (SIGINIT), Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT).

  • Experience with geospatial and mapping application systems.

  • Experience with tactical software and systems, mapping, imagery and GIS, and network administration, training, enhancements and upgrades.

  • Experience maintaining and converting digital map data and working with digital map products and appropriate storage devices.

  • Experience working in client-facing roles.

  • Ability to travel for up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree with 5+ years of related experience supporting DoD networks.
