What can you expect?

As the Safety Manager, you are responsible for the safety and health of employees through the development, implementation, and enforcement of the company safety programs. You are also responsible for worker's compensation claim management, applicable environmental permitting programs, accurate record keeping, and compliance with all appropriate safety regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, EPA, COE, and DEC. This role will drive safety in operations alongside project managers, develop and implement company health and safety programs, perform safety audits, lead investigations, and help develop and build company-wide safety culture and goals.  As our Safety Manager is critical to demonstrate our core values and ensure that we create the safest, most trained, and educated workforce we can have. 

 

How will you do it?

•      Help develop and maintain company safety programs and project-specific accident-prevention plans with field management, using our core values as the program's guiding principles.

•      Leverage professional expertise to coach managers, leaders, and employees to drive ongoing evaluation and continuous improvement of the company's safety culture.

•      Ensure that the company and projects follow all applicable Federal, State, and Local Safety & Health Regulations.

•      Order and maintain safety supplies and equipment.

•      Determine training requirements at company and project levels.

•      Provide safety-related topic training to field trainers, supervisors, and employees.

•      Distribute periodic health, safety, and well-being topics for the benefit of employees.

•      Lead near-miss and incident investigations to identify root causes, support the development of corrective actions, and monitor the completion of corrective actions to prevent a recurrence.

•      Maintain current compliance information and documentation for OSHA, MSHA, COE, and other agencies on all applicable company work sites.

•      Provide a primary point of contact for correspondence and communication with OSHA and MSHA.
