Shape the Future of Patient Care: OR RN Unit Based Educator at St. Joseph Medical Center

St. Joseph Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced OR RN Unit Based Educator to join our team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the development and implementation of comprehensive educational programs for our outstanding OR nursing staff.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the way: Design, implement, and evaluate innovative educational programs that empower our nurses to deliver exceptional patient care.

  • Champion competency: Develop and administer competency assessments, ensuring our staff consistently meet the highest standards of clinical practice.

  • Guide new talent: Plan and direct orientation and residency programs for new OR nurses, providing a smooth transition into their roles.

  • Foster growth: Identify individual learning needs and create tailored development opportunities to enhance staff skills and knowledge.

  • Collaborate for excellence: Work closely with other educators to streamline educational offerings, promote professional development, and ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience.

  • Stay ahead of the curve: Maintain and enhance your expertise in the OR setting, staying abreast of the latest advancements and best practices.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

Education/Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and two years of Operating Room experience. Previous work experience in the education/training of healthcare providers is strongly preferred. Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.

  • Alternative Requirement: A candidate who, although otherwise qualified, lacks a BSN degree may also be considered for the position if:

  • The applicant has a combined total of at least four years work experience in RN nursing and education/training development/delivery in the designated specialty area; AND

  • The applicant is actively pursuing attainment, within six months (or less) of date of hire, a bachelor’s degree in nursing, with a graduation date identified and continuing progress made towards completion of the degree requirements.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current active Washington State RN license.

  • Certification in specialty area to be obtained within one year of hire.

  • Current Health Care Provider BLS required, unless assigned to work with Surgery Schedulers and Surginet.

Pay Range

$46.96 - $74.63 /hour
