Aston Carter Purchasing Clerk in TACOMA, Washington

Description:

The Purchasing Clerk supports the purchasing activities for the Tacoma, WA facility. The position will facilitate the purchasing processing by creating and updating purchase orders and monitoring purchase order status. The position reports to the designated Buyer. The purchasing clerk demonstrates the ability to work as part of a team and to achieve expected results within the department while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The majority of this contractors responsibilities will be to input transactions/ purchase order in and verify correct information into SAP/ BE System.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists the Buyer in processing purchase requisitions through the purchasing transaction process to include

o Collecting and reviewing purchase requisitions from the BE system (Infor EAM)

o Converting BE purchase requisitions into purchase orders in SAP and reviews for appropriate material group and GL (general ledger) classifications

• Updates purchase orders based on properly approved and submitted change orders

• Verifies purchase order receipt by vendor for all purchase orders and updates confirmation file

• Reviews the open purchase order report daily, follows up with vendors for revised delivery dates, updates purchase orders accordingly and communicates to requester

• Maintains Vendor files to include Tax IDs, Disclosure Agreements, insurance documentation, etc

• Assists in the new vendor setup process

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Preferred:

• Experience with Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)

• Experience with an ERP system (SAP preferred)

• Excellent customer service skills both in-person and over the phone

• Accounting experience a plus

• Manufacturing experience a plus

• Associate’s degree desirable
