Pay Range: $78,000 - $105,000

This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the annual rate for this position. Actual annual rates will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package as outlined in the company's bonus policy.

What can you expect?

As the Project Engineer I, you will work approximately 80% in the field and 20% in the office in Tacoma, WA and you will be responsible for planning and coordination of activities concerned with construction and administrative management of projects, ensuring that project technical and reporting requirements are followed. This includes adherence to plans, specifications, schedules, applicable codes and permits, as well as compliance with accepted engineering practices and company standards.

 

How will you do it?

  • Interpret plans and contract terms including job cost coding.
  • Ensure that field activities adhere to contract plans, specs, and company policies. 
  • Perform duties as liaison with construction managers and other contacts to facilitate project objectives.
  • Coordinate work schedule, communications, and work activities with job subcontractors.
  • Complete daily project reporting that includes cost analysis, timekeeping, environmental and permit compliance, daily reports, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, quantities, and safety program documentation.
  • Coordinate project activities between office management and field management.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination among all project participants.
  • Ensure compliance with current project schedule and project completion documentation.
  • Work with Cost Accounting to manage the financial aspects of the contract to protect company interest and maintain good relations with customers.
  • Determine supplies and materials needs to complete projects and requisition same.
  • Formulate reports including work progress and cost schedules.
  • Assist in negotiation and buyout of subcontractors and vendors.
  • Represent company in project meetings as needed.
  • Assist Project Manager with day-to-day project operations.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
