Bradken NDT Inspection Supervisor in Tacoma, Washington

An exciting opportunity exists for a Non-Destructive Testing Inspection Supervisor to join our Tacoma Foundry. The NDT Inspector will provide daily direction to the inspection staff in order to support the NDT Manager in developing, implementing and measuring manufacturing site quality programs & process improvement goals. They will also embody & promote the principals of continuous improvement as set out in ISO 9001 and assist in the maintenance of company quality systems to ensure compliance with plant policies and procedures to achieve the business unit's plan and mission.

  • • Supervise the NDT program and personnel in accordance with company, ASNT and military requirements

  • Perform internal and external audits in support of the companies ISO 9001 certification

  • Lead/participate in customer, ASME and ISO audits

  • Perform miscellaneous quality/process improvement projects and investigations as directed by the NDT Manager

  • Recommend corrective action(s) to eliminate any potential quality losses through the analysis of work operations, quality records, and customer concerns

  • Host and assist customers and third-party inspectors during site visits

  • Create maintenance work orders as needed to keep the equipment and tools in proper and safe working order

  • Delegate preventative maintenance necessary for the department

  • Other duties as assigned or requested

A qualified candidate will have the following qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Post High School education in related field preferred

  • 5 years’ experience in the field of industrial quality and/or NDT Supervision in a manufacturing setting preferred

  • Previous or current Level II qualification required in the following methods: MT (Magnetic Particle) and PT (Liquid Penetrant). Previous or current qualification as a Level II in UT (Ultrasonic) and VT (Visual) is desired

  • Able to interpret ASME, ASTM, Military codes, customer specifications and drawings

  • Proficient computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Strong mathematical skills (including algebra)

  • Drawing/blueprint interpretation skills
