Work in Washington Veterans Jobs

We seek a safety-conscious Union Driver to join our team at our Hauling location in Frederickson, WA. Previous waste experience is a plus but not required.

A typical work week is 40-50 hours Monday through Friday. You're home every night! Pay starts between $34.50 and $35.50/HR.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste.

• Read route sheets and service each customer as directed by the dispatcher.

• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.

• Handle a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading waste, sometimes without assistance.

• Use hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.

• Interact courteously with customers and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

• Extensive physical activity includes lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.

• Work involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and occasional fumes and vibrations. The noise level is typically moderate.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Valid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement.

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Minimum two years of relevant experience.

• Basic knowledge of truck components for pre-and post-trip inspections.
