Provides routine clerical support in the maintenance and processing of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to ensure the accurate and timely entry of data and forms. Work duties may include scanning, reviewing paper forms or electronic documents for adherence to standards, data entry and other similar tasks.
Work requires strong attention to detail, timeliness, and a thorough understanding of internal policies and regulatory requirements governing health information.
Performs routine processing of paperwork to support Electronic Medical Records, such as assembling, scanning, distributing, faxing, and mailing.
Performs routine data/form validation, reviewing information and electronic medical records for timeliness, accuracy, format and compliance with internal standards.
Enters data into and maneuvers data within Electronic Medical Record system, meeting all standards for timeliness, accuracy, format and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Provides customer service and assistance to users of Electronic Medical Record system, third party agencies, patients, and others.
Provides general clerical/secretarial and customer service support to department.
Performs related duties as required.
One year of recent general office experience, medical office/HIM department, or equivalent healthcare experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities, including experience with computers and peripheral devices.
