Responsibilities

Opportunity for an experienced Pancreatic and Hepatobiliary Surgeon to join The Center for Digestive Health at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (https://www.vmfh.org/our-services/digestive-health) . This surgeon will practice in Tacoma on the campus of St. Joseph Medical Center, a comprehensive medical center serving the South Puget Sound region. Duties will also include being core faculty for the St. Joseph Hospital General Surgery Residency Program (https://www.vmfh.org/residencies-fellowships-and-training/post-graduate-residency-programs/general-surgery-st-joseph-medical-center-general-surgery-residency) .

Responsibilities

  • Participate in teaching of residents and multidisciplinary care of complex HPB patients as a member of the Center for Digestive Health at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health.

  • Practice Call. No General Surgery Call.

  • Willingness to travel to and work at satellite facilities if needed

  • Works with ambulatory leadership, hospital leadership, and Center leaders asneeded to resolve operational or clinical support challenges.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree

  • 3+ years of HPB surgery or HPB surgical oncology practice experience

  • Board certified in General Surgery (ABS)

  • Accredited-HPB Surgery and/or Surgical Oncology fellowship trained

  • Experience in both advanced liver and pancreatic surgery, including minimallyinvasive and robotic surgical approaches

  • Ability to obtain privileges at VMFH hospitals

  • Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the state of WA

  • Ability to obtain a DEA license with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice

  • Must be a physician in good standing

  • No undisclosed conflicts of interest

Pay Range

$224.51 - $295.01 /hour
