Hughes Group LLC Ground Support Equipment Mechanic in Tacoma, Washington
**Contingent upon contract award. Job description This position is responsible for all repairs, preventative maintenance to include initial and final inspections, IAW AR 750-1, on tactical GSE equipment consisting of power generation, external fuel delivery systems, refrigerated systems, vans and/or trailers and towing equipment. Qualifications • The selected candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills • Must be proficient w/Microsoft Office Skills • Must be extremely knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1 • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background screening • Must possess 5+ years of experience vehicle maintenance • Must be able to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation result and obtain/maintain a CAC • Selected candidate must provide own tools Desired Qualifications • U.S. Army 91 series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent. Responsibilities • This position is responsible for all repairs, preventative maintenance to include initial and final inspections, IAW AR 750-1, on tactical GSE equipment consisting of power generation, external fuel delivery systems, refrigerated systems, vans and/or trailers and towing equipment • The Ground Support Equipment Mechanic diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Ground Support Equipment (GSE) • Inspects and approves completed maintenance actions, solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications • Uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, and analyzes, diagnosis, and repairs GSE using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools • This mechanic prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles • In addition to maintaining vehicle records, this mechanic maintains and updates paper and electronic equipment records, provides dispatch service for GSE, including good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety always • This position involves working both indoors and outdoors • Work environment includes exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions • Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice as assigned Physical Demands • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching. • Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
