Aerotek General Production Worker in Tacoma, Washington

Job Description

Seeking skilled individuals to fabricate and assemble plastic Aerospace products, utilizing knowledge of plastics and bonding techniques. The role involves using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment to manufacture plastic foam products. Responsibilities include operating cutting equipment like band saws, table saws, routers, and shapers, manipulating small tools such as micrometers and calipers, spraying materials onto parts, and cutting, deflashing, and fabricating various foam parts. Candidates must be able to read, interpret, and convey instructions both verbally and in written form.

Hard Skills

  • Operation of cutting equipment (band saws, table saws, routers, shapers)

  • Aerospace production experience

  • Use of micrometers, calipers, box knife, exacto knife

  • Spray techniques

  • Ability to read tape measures

  • Basic math skills and English comprehension

  • Ability to stand for long hours (up to 10 hours/day)

  • Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs consistently

  • Comfortable working around heavy machinery

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 90 Day(s) until direct hire.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Tacoma, Washington.

Shift

Day shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm Mon - Fri

(during initial training, shift will be 7:30am - 2:30pm Mon - Fri)

Work Environment

The work environment can be dusty as it involves working with foam materials. Dress code includes closed-toed comfortable shoes, pants or shorts to the knees, and long sleeves. All candidates must be willing to join the union after 90 days.
