The Role Reporting into the Supply and Trading commercial group, your primary focus will be marketing and optimizing petroleum feedstocks and residual fuel oil products for our North American refineries. As part of your specific responsibilities, you will: Source, develop, and manage domestic and international commercial relationships to ensure uninterrupted offtake for the company\'s \"dirty\" petroleum products supply. Gain full understanding of the company\'s supply/distribution logistics to better manage product inventories and understand any system constraints. Facilitate marketing strategies based on current fundamentals by proactively interacting with third-party customers, Commercial Planning, Logistics, etc. Develop competitive market intelligence. Create, execute, and optimize monthly trading and logistics plans. Research and analyze performance of current business. Prepare and present monthly sales price variance analysis. Assume accountability over all invoices and contracts for your deals and product movements. Identify and develop new trading ideas in line with company strategies. Create and maintain Excel models to assist, guide, and capture your trading activities. Cross train, support, and backup team members as necessary for continuity. Interface extensively with the commercial group, other internal departments, counterparties, third-party terminals, pipeline/freight companies, and other external entities. Provide short and long-term price outlook for budget forecasts. Perform other duties as assigned. The Requirements To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for this opportunity, you will have/be: Significant experience in the \"dirty\" petroleum products industry is required including commodity trading, refinery commercial planning, sales/marketing, and logistics/scheduling. Solid understanding of global petroleum feedstocks and residual fuel oil market fundamentals with an emphasis on US West Coast vacuum gasoil markets is highly preferred. Strong commercial trading network and ability to further develop it into new markets. Ability to identify and resolve the typical issues that arise in trading and distributing petroleum feedstocks and residual fuel oil products on the US West Coast. Experience with both barge and vessel marine freight movements is required. Strong negotiation skills, sense of urgency, and a capacity to work in a time sensitive environment with shifting priorities. Ability to analyze large sets of data, see market trends, and create market views to guide individual trading decisions and to support the company\'s strategic plans. Excellent working knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel as it is a primary tool used daily in this role. Strong oral, written, and non-verbal communication skills. Timely internal and external communication. A self-starter approach with ability to work with little or no supervision in an independent and collaborative team environment. Experience using market data streaming software such as DTN\'s ProphetX, Refinitiv Eikon, etc, is a plus. This position is to be based in either Houston TX or Tacoma WA with regular travel to visit with customers and a
