Job Title Family Medicine Physician - Part-Time Location TACOMA, WA US (Primary) Job Type Part-time Job Description Work Schedule: 18-24 hours per weekand occasionaltravel between on-site base clinics. The Health Care Provider (HCP) shall be available and required to work additional clinic hours as deemed necessary for adequate deliverable care of services. Summary: Provides comprehensive medical services for members of family, regardless of age or sex within the scope of training. Diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases and injuries that commonly occur in the general population. May refer patients to specialists when needed for further diagnosis or treatment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Examines active duty, family members and other authorized beneficiaries to determine the presence and extent of diseases and conditions. Administers appropriate care and or referral of cases requiring hospitalization or subspecialty care. May perform the following procedures: Vasectomy, reduction of simple fractures, Lumbar Puncture, emergency deliveries, Endometrial biopsy, joint aspiration/injection, Proctosigmoidoscopy, ECG performance and initial interpretation, interpretation of basic radiographs, insertion/removal of IUD, regional anesthesia, splinting/casting/immobilization of simple fractures, crisis intervention, and advanced cardiac life support. Complete all documentation of care provided in the MTF computer programs for which training was/is provided. Ensure all patient encounters are closed within 72 hours of encounter. Become familiar with the hospital formulary and prescribe pharmaceuticals according to the availability of drugs listed therein. Provide instructions to all prescribing practitioners on substitutability of non-formulary (off-patented) medications. Use computer order entry to order prescriptions or use prescription forms DD 1289 in accordance with local policy and federal compliance. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from a school in the US or Canada approved by a recognizing accredited body in the year of the applicant's application. Graduates of foreign medical schools are required to possess both a medical license and other certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) or 5th Pathway. Successfully completed a post-graduate medical training program in Family Medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or Board Certification through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP). Maintain all license and certification requirements to meet all continuing education requirements of the U.S. jurisdiction in which they are licensed to practice. Possess and maintain current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number. Minimum of two years of consecutive experience within the past five years in the practice as a Family Practice Physician- prior to commencement of services under this contract. Health and immunization requirements: annual physical; annual TB test; annual influenza; MMR; varicella; Hepatitis B. Special Skills: Possess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that he/she can relate constructively to a variety of patients from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
