ANCHOR QEA, LLC Entry-level Environmental Scientist in Tacoma, Washington

Title: Entry-level Environmental Scientist Location: Seattle or Tacoma, Washington Job Type: Regular Full-Time What's the Opportunity? Position Title: Junior Environmental Scientist Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time environmental scientist to support environmental cleanup and investigation projects primarily throughout the Pacific Northwest. The successful candidate will be able to work in a collaborative team-oriented environment. Job duties primarily include field work, data analysis, reporting, or assistance in demonstrating regulatory compliance. Responsibilities: Field work will include the following: Support site investigation and monitoring teams, including environmental sample collection (soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water). Assist with drilling activities and groundwater monitoring well installations. Support construction monitoring and oversight activities, including air monitoring, water quality monitoring, and/or environmental sample collection (on water and land). Record field notes to the specific task performed at each site. Follow Anchor QEA policies and procedures including, but not limited to, environmental health and safety and quality assurance and control. Travel away from the home office may be required (up to 30% travel anticipated). Other support could include data analysis, reporting, or permitting tasks for various projects. What Are We Looking For? Ideal candidates will have the following: Geology (preferred) or earth sciences bachelor's degree and some related field work experience; 1-3 years of related field work experience preferred but not required OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required; will be provided by Anchor QEA if this certification has not been obtained CPR/First Aid/AED certification required; will be provided by Anchor QEA if these certifications have not been obtained A good driving record and ability to drive a company vehicle Ability to follow a standard operating procedure Ability to handle chemicals safely and understand safety data sheets Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other common office software Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with other technical specialists as part of a larger project team Strong commitment to health and safety and technical excellence Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and schedules What Can You Expect?
