POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary function of this position is to provide contractor administrative support to the military Command Language Program Manager (CLPM) for maintenance of the linguist skills database, specifically Individual Language Training Plans (ILTPs.)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:        

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

Manage and execute CLP support across FORSCOM environment. This support includes being prepared to be on ground to support local CLPM and various military units with the appropriate level of knowledge/expertise/tools; providing guidance/ assistance to local CLPM and various FORSCOM units to ensure continuity of effort.

Provide administrative support to the military CLPM for maintenance of the linguist skills database, specifically ILTPs.

Maintain correspondence related to the CLP, such as CLP SOP.

  • Collect lab attendance and maintain weekly course attendance records.
  • Ensure remote instructors maintain weekly requirements.
  • Keep record of all student study hours with database entries and quarterly reports to CLPM and/or FOSRCOM
  • Collect Pre- and Post ODAs at the beginning and at the end of each class -- enter data into ODA summary spreadsheet.
  • Collect Learning Styles Questionnaires, Instructor Feedbacks and Course Data sheets from instructors at the end of each class.
  • Administer mid-term and final course evaluation surveys to all students.

In support of the CLPM, monitor ILTPs, to assess progress and recommend adjustments to training. Review with the linguist at least quarterly.

Attend in-processing for each class - introduce oneself to the linguists and explain what kind of support they can receive during the refresher course.

Support self-study initiatives in the ILTP

Encourage linguists to utilize language lab

Review students' progress on a regular basis (midterm and final).

Have a discussion with returning linguists and substandard linguists with the purpose of assessing their progress and possibly making helpful suggestions on how to help them achieve a higher DLPT score.

Maintain links to all relevant publications, such as AR 11-6, DA PAM  11-8, DA Form 330, etc.

Monitor program schedule

  • Stay current on the number of submitted packets for the upcoming sessions.
  • Share the updates on any new submissions/drop outs with the PM and APM.
  • Prepare FY training schedules

Meet with the CLPM and PM on a regular basis to review:

  • Student survey results, ODA results, and attendance results
  • Prepare summary minutes and recommendations for the linguists and the CLP based on the meeting.
