Job Summary:

Performs office tasks that ensure accurate and efficient diet order taking of prescribed food to the patient.

Essential Duties:

  • Receives and processes patient information and implements Dietitian’s instructions to assure nutritional care of all patients; receives and processes diet orders/food requests; maintains accurate patient records and diet ordering information.

  • Operates electronic POS system and hospital software applications that ensure prompt and accurate meal ordering. Follows up with kitchen, delivery and clinical staff as necessary to ensure prompt and accurate delivery.

  • Ensures prompt service for all patients and follows department service recovery protocols as needed.

  • Completes daily/weekly tracking reports to ensure quality data is current and accurate.

  • Follows department and government safety and sanitation standards.

  • Maintains a “clean as you go” workspace.

  • Performs related duties as required.


Education/Work Experience Requirements:

Six months recent work experience in hospital dietetics and diet therapy that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.


Current Washington State Department of Health Food Worker Card is required.
