Apply Description CIVIL ENGINEER/PROJECT MANAGER Role Description: Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Civil Engineer (Eng V) with at 8-10 years of experience and will be a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Washington. This Civil Engineer/Project Manager position should have experience in the management and design of a wide-range of land development projects and public works projects for various industrial, commercial and/or residential development projects. Duties include but not limited to, initial project research, plan production and management of plan production staff, plan processing and management of plan processing efforts, construction administration and project close-out efforts. Location: Tacoma, WA Employment Type: 40 FT Hours Reports to: Vice President/Managing Principal Compensation Type: Salary Registration(s): Professional Engineer Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) Duties: Function as a Lead Civil Engineer Prepare preliminary engineering reports. Research jurisdictional requirements for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings Prepare of proposal/contract and of project work plans and schedule Prepare design and construction drawings using AutoCAD and information obtained from research activities Coordinate client management and marketing efforts for future work Prepare GIS exhibits using ArcGIS Conduct site visits and documents findings Work directly with clients and directing a staff with varied levels of experience and expertise Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence Writes or prepares graphic materials for presentations or documents Lead a team of engineers and drafters Initiate and lead kickoff calls or high-level design calls with client in addition to preparing monthly forecasting and client cost estimates when appropriate Key Responsibilities: Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects. Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client). Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projects Cultivates relationships with clients and holds strong relationships with clients Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process including weekly rhythm Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy. Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations. Actively engages and participates in the training, coaching, and mentoring of junior staff Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current.
