Description Activity Assistant: Status: Full-Time Wage: $17.50/hour - this position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement with the SEIU 775 Location: Avamere at Pacific Ridge - 3625 East B St. Tacoma, WA 98404 The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your superiors. Responsibilities: Set up, implement, and clean up resident group and individual activities Coordinate with other departments as necessary and in conjunction with resident care plans Ensure that all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and indicate the resident's response to the service Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, report, etc., and submitting such to the Activity Director as required Supervise scheduled resident smoking breaks outdoors to ensure the safety of residents Distribute smoking materials belonging to each resident Ensure residents do not leave the smoking area with cigarettes or lighters in their possession Report any risks and consequences while smoking to nursing personnel immediately Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Active and valid Driver's License Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Able to self-direct, switch directions, and complete tasks despite frequent interruptions Able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action Able to sit, stand, and walk frequently throughout the work day Possess patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as being willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-Verify Avamere Companies is an Equal Opportunity Employer
