Job Description:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing the billing and collection functions, ensuring cash flow through efficient and effective operations. The role involves verification and record keeping of incoming cash, client billing, and processing of financial paperwork. Maintaining precise records of all incoming payments, from invoices, credit memos, to payment discrepancies is a primary responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, verify, and process invoices for goods or services rendered

  • Enter data into the company’s accounting system regarding payments, transactions, and other financial information

  • Communicate with clients about billing discrepancies and questions

  • Process credit memos and the cancellation of business transactions

  • Maintain and update client information, ensuring accuracy

  • Compile and send out past due notice invoices and monthly statements

  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual audits of billings, payments, and discrepancies

  • Bridge the gap between the receivables team and the client to resolve issues quickly

  • Conduct collection calls and customer visits to collect accounts receivables

  • Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline

  • Proven work experience in a similar role

  • Proficiency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations

  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • High degree of numerical accuracy and attention to detail

  • Professional certification e.g. CPA or CMA is a plus

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Capacity to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.
