The Systems Support Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of technical computer support activities involving the installation, configuration, maintenance and repair of personal computer equipment, software, peripherals and telephones; consults on software problems and repairs operating system problems. Provide technical advice and assistance as a lead to lower level computer support staff, as a first level office automation expert to business customers, or as an entry-level programmer and system designer.

Experience:

  • At minimum, 2-3 years of information technology experience with first-level end-user support, including troubleshooting and direct/help desk support, LAN Administration, maintenance and security back up.

  • Experience with installation, configuration and maintenance of the following: IBM compatible PC hardware and peripherals; TCP/IP networking hardware and software; Microsoft XP or Windows 7; Microsoft Office 2000/XP/2003.

Education:

  • Associate of Arts degree. Experience may substitute for degree.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003; Microsoft XP; Microsoft Office, Meditech, and other applications as required.

  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal & communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, consistent follow-through and ability to respond to last minute requests.

Licenses/Registrations/Certifications:

  • CompTIA A+ certification required; A+ certification preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as standing or walking for prolonged periods of time; frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, reaching, stooping, crouching, crawling and stretching is necessary to assist in the movement and repositioning equipment and devices. The employee must exert 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects and must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds.Requires frequent repetitive hand/wrist motions and finger manipulation. Requires normal/corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
