Position Summary:

Responsible for providing direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse according to the scope of practice of Nursing Assistants.

Experience:

  • Minimum six months’ experience as a Nursing Assistant preferred.

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED. Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Licenses/Registrations/Certifications:

  • Current WA State Nursing Assistant Certification and BLS.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as standing or walking for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, stooping, crouching and stretching required during the normal course of the day. The employee must exert 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects and must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Requires frequent repetitive hand/wrist motions and finger manipulation. Requires normal/corrected vision and hearing to normal range. The work involves recurring exposure to moderate risks which require special safety and health precautions and the use of Personal Protective Equipment; risks such as exposure to contagious diseases, contaminated bodily fluids, sharp instruments, and other contaminants.
