Perform all laboratory test, analyses, and procedures in a prompt, accurate, and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Six months experience in a hospital-based lab preferred.
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry or related science, or have passed the HEW exam to qualify for Medical Technologist.
- Knowledge of testing principles related to routine testing. Ability to work independently and multitask. Knowledge of specimen handling, collection techniques, and general lab workflow. Basic computer skills.
- National certification from ASCP, AMT, NCA.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as standing or walking for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crouching, and stretching. The employee must exert 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects and must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds. Requires frequent repetitive hand/wrist motions and finger manipulation. Requires normal/corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
