YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties Vision and Call Engagement Lead Intern in Sumner, Washington

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking an Intern to join our team!

 

The Active Older Adult Engagement Lead Intern will support the design of and lead the implementation of the Community Groups in the Center serve; an in-person member engagement program. If selected, you will provide leadership and support for the Active Older Adult member experience by creating opportunities for meaningful relationship building that supports growth and wellness in spirit, mind, and body. In this position, the intern will provide innovative leadership and coordination of community engagement and facilitate community groups in-person through small group activities, monthly special events, engagement through classes and invitations to our Silver and Fit and Optum members through phone calls that come into our Y Centers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with staff to design and implement the growth of community groups within their center with a focus on members forming meaningful relationships that supports a strategic membership engagement to increase retention and fulfillment of the Y mission.
  • Utilize the systems and processes to connect members to one another to foster community through in-person in community groups
  • Assist in marketing efforts and strategies.
  • Track and utilize data to drive learning and program development

Administration:

  • Support staff and volunteer connectors and facilitators.
  • Collaborate with all departments within a center to create and market groups
  • Respond to all member and community inquiries and questions within a timely manner of 24-48 hours.

     

Collaborate:

  • Ignite the vision for integrating community groups within existing programming / departments.
  • Collaborate with the others to ensure consistent delivery of the special events, programs and classes to have our Active Older Adult members invited and engaged at the Y.
  • Collaborate with community-based organizations to bring in opportunities for connection for our members.

     

Supervision:

  • Recruit, on-board, and support volunteer and staff Community Connectors and Facilitators.
  • Coordinate and support the training of all staff and volunteers.

     

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of post-high school education and/or equivalent knowledge and experience in communication, business, or related field that includes volunteer development, program development, or innovation.
  • Positive attitude, innovative spirit, and previous experience with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated skills in customer service, community building, organizational skills, communication, computer knowledge, and an openness and ability to learn new things.
  • You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Wage: $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on qualifications

 

Location: Gordon Family YMCA, Sumner, WA
