    Food Services Director Position Summary:

    The Food Service Director ensures that nutritious and appetizing meals and snacks are provided for the residents, maintains a clean, orderly, and safe working environment in the kitchen and dining room, and supervises dietary staff.

    Food Services Director Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, follow, and implement a menu cycle appropriate for senior nutritional needs and preferences, submitting menus to dietician for suggestions and approval.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of all kitchen and dining room equipment, procedures, and food service.

  • Exhibit working knowledge of all aspects of cooking, ordering, sanitary storage, and food preparation.

  • Prepare, and supervise preparation of, meals according to planned menus. Also develop new recipes and standardization as needed.

  • Inventory and supervise the storage of incoming food and supplies – receive deliveries and check receipts against purchase orders.

  • Work and communicate effectively with others as well as function independently.

  • Hire, train, schedule, counsel and terminate dietary staff.

  • Aware of, adhere to, and promote, the policies and procedures of Stafford Suites including resident’s rights of privacy and dignity.

  • Aware of, and adhere to, all state and federal regulations that apply to the facility.

  • Demonstrate cooperative teamwork in all duties.

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment at all times for staff and residents.

  • Demonstrate high quality communication skills with residents, family members, staff, and department supervisors.

  • Maintain all dietary record keeping/budget accounting, and review all budgeted categories (food, non-food, and labor) regularly with Executive Director.

  • Our Company follows WA Proclamation 21.14.1 which requires all employees working in the Health Care Setting be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, unless they are exempt for medical and religious reasons.

    Food Services Director Supervisory Responsibilities:

    This position manages all employees in the Food Service Department. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Food Services Director Education/Experience:

    At least three (3) years of experience as a dietary director or lead dinner chef. Must have previous experience in hiring, directing, counseling and terminating staff. Previous experience working with the elderly preferred.
