We are seeking an experienced, capable Senior Accountant to join our team for a company in the construction sector. This role is a senior level general ledger accountant with a strong focus on financial analysis. This individual will play a vital role in building upon variance analysis, ad hoc reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as outlining scenarios. Great opportunity with a growing company that just relocated and expanded in the area. Local to Auburn, this position is 100% on site, with flexibility. Responsibilities Include:

1. Review and create financial reports including variance analyses and forecasting.

2. Carry out month, quarter, and year-end closings.

3. Prepare and post monthly journal entries.

4. Carry out an account and bank account reconciliation.

5. Evaluate financial reports and highlight trends, opportunities, and areas for concern.

6. Assist in tax preparation, specifically pertaining to California tax codes.

7. Participate and offer valuable insight in team collaboration and decision-making.

8. Travel to multiple sites and branches when required and work with remote teams.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or a related field, ideally within the construction sector.

2. Proficiency with accounting software – Sage preferred.

3. Experience and knowledge in California tax regulations.

4. Experience in public accounting.

The salary range for this position is $85k to $95k. BENEFITS SUMMARY/INFO: Benefits available with this position include medical, dental and vision; life and disability insurances; participation in the company’s 401(k) plan and 15 days of paid vacation, 5 days of paid sick leave and 10 paid holidays per calendar year.

Requirements

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or a related field, ideally within the construction sector - or adjacent (Construction services, manufacturing, etc).

2. Proficiency with an ERP (accounting) software – Sage preferred, but not required

3. Experience and knowledge in California tax regulations preferred

4. Experience in public accounting performs well in this role
