Description We have an opportunity for you to join our The Special Commitment Center (SCC) as a Director of Discharge Services will have development, oversight, and implementation responsibilities of creating a Discharge Program for SCC. This exciting new program presents an incredible opportunity for a skilled leader and clinician to develop, implement and administer a new program, hire a new team of leaders and clinicians, and maintain community safety through the execution of these new measures. The Discharge Program will be responsible for ensuring a smooth transition of Residents between the SCC and the community, with the placement of resources throughout the state according to and coordination of care during the Less Restrictive Alternative period. The Director of Discharge Services fills a critical role in SCC’s mission of promoting Resident reintegration back into the community. This position develops and executes SCC’s Community Programs through the implementation of legislative mandates. The Director of Discharge Services will partner with the Chief of Clinical Services to improve the interface between the SCC and community programs. The services within the Community Program will be designed to provide services to individuals with histories of sexual violence, and for those who have these situations along with co-occurring behavioral health and developmental disabilities diagnoses. You’ll also enjoy an excellent benefits package that rivals any employer in the state of Washington. *Some of what you'll do: * Develops a Discharge Program for SCC residents to include policies, procedures, assessments, forms, risk assessment, and mitigation. * Directs, implements, and oversees the day-to-day provision of discharge planning services. * Ensures that Community Program staff understand and follow policies and procedures, including personnel regulations and policies that govern appropriate workplace behavior. * Oversees the Community Program to include the community program manager, placement coordinators, and community care, coordinators. * Ensures adequate staffing, constantly assessing and coordinating staffing needs * Monitors and assigns caseloads to primary therapists and social workers; assists in the development of placement options, and oversees the assignment of discharge plans * Assures that discharge manual are up-to-date and reflect standard clinical practice and current research findings * Provides regular oversight of social workgroups, and treatment team meeting participation in order to ensure therapist adherence to the structure of the SCC treatment program and to ensure the Community Program staff collaborate and partner with the treatment team and clinical leadership of SCC. * Audits resident transition documentation to ensure quality * Forecasts necessary staffing increases to meet increasing population needs * Coordinates program-related trainings. * * Required Education, Experience, and Competencies. * A Master's or any other advanced degree in social services or public administration, OR a minimum of 10 years of experience working in a public behavioral health system or psychiatric hospital with specific duties related to behavioral health services, development of resources, * Licensure as an Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). * Direct knowledge of Washington State's behavioral health and public health system, including outpatient and inpatient care, systems, and coordination of treatment (e.g.: BHOs, MCOs, Community Mental Health Providers) and pertinent CFR, RCW, and WAC related to sex offender treatment and behavioral health treatment. * Must be a Clinical Member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) or obtain membership within 3 months of hire. * At least five years of supervisory experience providing clinical supervision to professional staff * Experience in providing clinical leadership and direction to multi-disciplinary teams and or treatment programs in a residential setting. * Communicates clearly and effectively in oral presentations and writing. * Ability to work collaboratively to plan, analyze, and problem-solve, identify policy needs, develop goals and objectives and use data for decision making. * Ability to maintain relationships, coordinate and build consensus among internal and external stakeholders. * Ability to work with cross-systems to develop improved coordination of care for individuals with multiple needs. * Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including consumers, advocates, providers, state and local government officials and/or legislators and legislative staff.
