U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Electrical Engineer in Starbuck, Washington
This is a full-time permanent civilian position. You must be a U.S. Citizen.
This position is located at Little Goose Dam, Starbuck, WA. The Dam is operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and is situated on the Snake River, 65-river miles downstream from Clarkston, WA and 70-river miles upstream from the Tri-Cities, WA.
Duties
- Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, and safety and security systems.
- Provides professional electrical engineering expertise on operations and maintenance of electrical equipment for multipurpose hydroelectric power facility.
- Utilizes a detailed understanding of how control systems affect power generation equipment, fish passage, navigation and lock equipment, and dam spillway gates.
- Interfaces with private sector contractors/vendors regarding equipment purchases, services and supplies.
Basic Requirement for an Electrical Engineer: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in electrical engineering.
GS-11 Specialized Experience (clearly documented in your resume)*: *One year of specialized experience which includes experience with professional electrical engineering activities at a manufacturing or industrial facility. Must include experience in analyzing policies, procedures and governing regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
GS-12 Specialized Experience (clearly documented in your resume)*: *One year of specialized experience which includes experience applying theories, principles, concepts and methodologies of electrical engineering as it applies to operations and maintenance of industrial power generation or distribution facilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
