Description Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA Responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision to aid physician in patient diagnosis and treatment. MLS personnel are capable of performing pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, instruction to students, and instrument maintenance and problem resolution. Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infectious control standards so that the laboratory remains in compliance with accreditation and licensing agencies. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in related health sciences National Certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology -OR- National Medical Technologist - American Association of Bioanalysts -OR- National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists -OR- National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology -OR- National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology -OR- National Clinical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology -OR- National Laboratory Tech - United States Government 10 or more years of cumulative full-time clinical laboratory experience with MLS or equivalent certification Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of Blood Banking or Transfusion Medicine experience within the last 10 years Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) Why Join Providence?
