Description School Teacher at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA Schedule Details: Full Time, Day Shift, Monday through Friday The Secondary Teacher position within the Hospital-School at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital is very unique. This position works directly with children ages 5-18 who are hospitalized for medical or psychiatric issues, facing long-term chronic illness, or recovery from injury in their home communities. Students will be hospital patients for various lengths of time and be at various stages of treatment. The position requires the ability to coordinate educational services with the student's home district and work at a pace appropriate for the student. An essential element of this position is demonstrating caring and compassion for vulnerable children and families in crisis. Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. Required qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in job related field Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. Job related experience in specialized field Preferred qualifications: Master's Degree in Special Education Teaching Certification 5 years of teaching experience Endorsements in Special Education and/or English Language Learner (ELL) Experience in a traditional classroom setting as well as an alternative learning environment Experience working with children with medical issues, disabilities, and mental health diagnoses Why Join Providence?
