Umpqua Bank Retail LSS Documentation Specialist in Spokane, Washington
In this role, you will be responsible for loan servicing, ongoing customer service, billing, payment processing and General Ledger accounts within an environment of high work volumes and established deadlines. You will independently handle production tasks requiring knowledge of lending documents, policies and procedures. Day to day, you will work on assignments that are complex and specialized in nature where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations. And, generally, you will act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
Perform loan servicing and support activities such as, booking loans, auditing loans, processing payments/corrections, adjusting loan rates, ensuring accurate credit reporting and balancing GL accounts.
Acts as first point of contact for internal and external phone inquiries and servicing related tasks.
Process payoffs, payoff quotes, payment of taxes, analysis of customer reserve accounts and preparation of annual statements.
Ensures documents confirming secured status of loans are filed and tracked.
Tracks insurance payments, researches loan issues, resolves customer problems.
Captures metrics to assist Supervisor in coordinating and adjusting workflow.
Responsible for participating in continuous improvement efforts to assist in the implementation of visual cues and workflow improvements.
Assists management in solving complex problems using root cause analysis and data to support key decision and makes recommendations to management.
Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description. Applies knowledge in the course of conducting job duties.
May be asked to train junior associates. Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.
Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that apply to your position, and keep up to date on regulation changes.
Maintain working knowledge of our policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations that apply to your position.
High school diploma/GED required. Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
2-3 years of experience in banking, loan servicing or equivalent experience preferred.
Advanced working knowledge of the consumer loans, function/department, regulations, policies and procedures.
Demonstrated excellent math, analytical, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proficient use of computer software including Word, Excel, loan servicing systems and other office equipment.
Ability to work in a service oriented environment with high work volumes and deadlines.
