WASHINGTON TRUST BANK Quality Control Coordinator I/II in Spokane, Washington

Description Under the direction of the manager, this position is responsible for ensuring Washington Trust Bank maintains a sound quality control process with respect to compliance with state and federal laws and regulations and our policies and procedures. The QC Coordinator will review one or more of the following: lending processes by reviewing consumer, residential, equipment, SBA, commercial and mortgage loan requests and related documentation for accuracy and compliance and compliance with deposit opening policies and procedures. The QC Coordinator will review one or more Deposit Services functions to include Exception Limits for Debit/Credit Cards, RDA, Bill Pay, Bank to Bank and POS and other Deposit Services functions as they arise. Essential Functions: Ensures the Bank maintains a sound loan portfolio with respect to compliance with state and federal laws and regulation, and Bank policies and procedures by reviewing consumer, residential, equipment, SBA, commercial and mortgage loan requests and related documentation for accuracy and compliance. Ensures the Bank complies with set policies for Exception Limits for deposit products as outlined in WTB Exception Process guide. Ensures the Bank complies with set policies for Deposit products as testing needs are requested Recommends and/or implements new procedures to maintain proper controls. Identifies quality control reporting needs of managers in order to proactively develop reporting to assist managers in business unit operation and compliance. Provides quality control support for business unit functions, testing and communicating updates to staff or business unit as needed. Provides input in the ongoing maintenance of the Quality Control Plan and makes recommendations for updates to department management. Attends relevant quality control, loan program trainings, and compliance training, as it relates to lending and deposit products, in order to keep abreast of changing regulations and requirements. Assists in periodic audit and certifications of Bank lending operations, deposit operations and documenting quality control compliance with state and federal regulations and policies and procedures. Assists in preparing detailed audit reports for presentation to management advising them of problems relative to quality control compliance risk related to deposit and loan quality controls Documents audit findings for the purpose of identifying training needs and potential performance issues. Provides training for new and existing staff. Maintains and updates current procedures in the department procedural guidelines. Performs compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned. Regular, reliable attendance is required. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience performing banking industry duties required. Sufficient knowledge of all banking activities and terminology with knowledge of branch operation procedures, Bank products and services Intermediate knowledge of related state, federal, and compliance laws and regulations and other Bank policies Superior time management and organizational skills; ability to coordinate own work and work of others to keep projects on task. Ability to complete goals, deadlines, and reporting in a timely and accurate manner. High degree of PC technical skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Suite and the internet. Knowledge of loan system/ bank system preferred. Knowledge of deposit and credit/debit card systems preferred Advanced knowledge of title policies and related loan regulations such as RESPA, HMDA and other Bank lending policies. Strong interpersonal skills to maintain excellent relationships with management, staff, and team members, using diplomacy and tact effectively.
