Job Title: Precaster
Job Description
As a Precaster, you will be responsible for assembling metal forms for molding reinforced concrete slabs, stairs, and beams, as well as pouring and finishing concrete.
Your daily tasks will include cleaning and preparing molds, pouring concrete, and finishing concrete.
You will be involved in various activities related to the manufacturing of precast and pre-stressed concrete.
This role requires working in a physically demanding environment that can get hot, sweaty, and dirty.
Responsibilities
Frequently climb/hop in and out of forms that are 5-6 feet tall and narrow.
Read and understand the Production Schedule and adhere to time frames.
Assist with the setup and stripping of concrete forms.
Assist with the filling and leveling of the concrete castings.
Participate in housekeeping tasks to help clean the shop.
Essential Skills
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
Must be able to climb in and out of 5-6 feet tall forms that are narrow.
Stand, walk, crouch, kneel, stretch, and climb for extended periods of time.
Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch.
Proficiency in hand and power tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Drama-free with a good attitude.
Works well with others and follows instructions promptly.
Ability to use concrete finishing tools.
Ability to use heavy equipment (e.g., overhead cranes).
Some woodworking skills are preferable.
Welding, maintenance, QC, and welding skills are a plus.
Work Environment
You will be working inside a large, open-door production floor with a crew of 5-10 people.
The environment is dirty with concrete dust and splatter.
The facility manufactures a variety of concrete products including burial vaults, stairways, septic/water tanks, manholes, storm/sewer drainage, retaining walls, park restrooms, light pole bases, and custom projects.
There are six different zones in the shop, each requiring different skills and concrete mixes, contributing to a dynamic and challenging work environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00
