Providence St. Joseph Health Polysomnographer - Sleep Laboratory in Spokane, Washington

Description Responsible for helping to maintain or restore maximum functioning of the patient's cardiopulmonary system in accordance with physician orders and/or departmental protocols. Required to exercise initiative in developing ideas or in responding to or adjusting problem situations. Work processes and assignments for patients of all ages frequently require the incumbent to interpret and apply operating procedures, technical standards, and/or protocols to problems of varying degrees of complexity. The Polysomnographer provides quality diagnostic sleep services to patients of all ages, adjusting approach to meet the age specific needs of assigned patients. Responsible for calibration and quality control of diagnostic sleep equipment. Assures that reports are accurate and ready for interpreting physician in a timely manner. Scores polysomnographic recordings accurately and records pertinent technical notes to aid reading physicians in diagnosis of sleep disorders. Participates in performance improvement activities as requested in an effort to continually improve the quality of services offered. Reports to Sleep Supervisor. Required Qualifications: Coursework/Training: ASTEP Program or equivalent education/experience. National Registered Polysomnographic Technologist - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists upon hire, Or National Certified Polysomnographic Technician - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists upon hire, Or National Sleep Disorders Specialty - National Board for Respiratory Care upon hire. National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. 2 years recent experience in the field of Sleep Study technology. Why Join Providence?
