Providence Nurse Technician (Nurse Fellowship) - Sub Acute Care I in Spokane, Washington

Description

The Nurse Technician is a student currently enrolled in a Registered Nurse program at an accredited school and has completed at least one academic term, which included a clinical component. Functions under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and within the scope of practice that the supervisor has determined is appropriate based upon the education and skills of the Nurse Technician and as defined by the Washington Administrative Code (WAC)*. Responsible for providing direct resident** care, applying current health concepts and assisting with routine or general clinical responsibilities that may contribute directly and indirectly to patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or charge nurse. May work up to the documented level of academic competence accomplished in the individual's education program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Completed one academic term which includes a clinical rotation.

  • Washington Nursing Technician Registration upon hire.

  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

  • One academic clinical rotation (as above).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Currently enrolled and in good standing in a nursing program that is:

  • Approved by the WA State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission, WA State Department of Health, or other state nursing approval body for out of state residents;

  • Accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Collegiate Education, or other national nursing accrediting body.

  • 6 months of prior employment experience in a long term care, assisted living or skilled nursing environment

About the Team

Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses.
