We are seeking an exceptional individual to provide technical leadership on our Network Engineering team as a Network Engineer, Domain Architect.
About the position:
As a Network Engineer, Domain Architect, you’ll play an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the company’s network domain technology strategy and processes. You will partner with internal technology groups to ensure that the proposed technical solutions align with, and enable, the company’s overall objectives. You’ll collaborate with business leaders in other departments, internal innovation teams, and IT functional areas by helping them identify and take advantage of our complete portfolio of network services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Evaluates technology trends, tools and techniques for potential application to infrastructure and research areas.
Partner with department and business unit leaders to define opportunities and projects based on business strategy goals.
Lead the gathering of requirements, analysis of solutions, and design of systems necessary to meet the networking needs of the business.
Perform gap analysis to reflect current status of existing network technologies and the ability to contribute and enable future state business needs.
Develop, document, and present network domain architecture and roadmaps based on business requirements and technology strategies.
Guide and advise stakeholders about disruptive network technologies and trends.
Facilitate and lead technical collaboration across technology domains including network, security, compute and storage, and applications.
Support the evaluation and selection of network design standards, as necessary.
Mentor Network Engineers to promote high levels of system architecture knowledge awareness.
An ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, System Engineering, Engineering, or related field of study
14 years of experience designing and implementing enterprise scale technology solutions in at least two IT Infrastructure domains such as:
compute and storage data center
Extensive knowledge of operations and delivery concepts, principles, standards, tools, techniques and methodologie
Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
Deep understanding of technology design process and design methodologies
Ability to connect strategy to architecture and architecture to design
- Exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the enterprise (Team, Mgr., Sr. Mgr., Director, VP, etc.)
